Just Feel Great

Feel great about yourself one moment at a time

Stereotypical assumptions

by Steve on February 18, 2010

We all suffer from stereotypical assumptions and strong believes inherited from our education, experiences and cultural environment. But watch your assumptions and believes! There is an opposite truth to whatever you believe is true. In the next video, Derek Sivers explains that “There’s a flip side to everything”. Different environments and perspectives generate distinct believes… I think that it’s useful to question our assumptions and believes to adapt ourselves to different situations and find creative resources to achieve our goals.

How to get rid of resentment toward someone

by Steve on February 17, 2010

Forgiveness is a fantastic therapy that can set you free from resentment, anger, bitterness and emotional burdens. Here is a simple and powerful process to set forgiveness into action.

When you feel resentment toward another person do this:

  • Take a sheet of paper and write the name of the person on the top.
  • Then write why you feel resentment toward this person.
  • At the bottom of the page, write: Now I forgive you for what you have done and set myself free from any resentment.
  • Turn the page and write : I bless you {name of the person}.
  • Tear the paper and throw it away.
  • Renew the process every time you feel resentment toward a person.

This simple technique is really powerful, you will be blown away.

A simple and beautiful prayer

by Steve on February 16, 2010

I want to share with you this very simple prayer.  May this post enrich your faith whatever it is.

Dear God,

I open my heart for you,
you can see my doubts, my ignorance, my fears,
you do not judge me, and I dare to be myself.

Thank you for filing my heart with Love, Peace and Joy,
so that I see the real value of things, people and situations,
so that I find Happiness in everything I do,
so that I feel peaceful throughout my day.

Thank you for manifesting my heart’s desires,
as your blessings enlighten my life and empower my faith.

Let me share the simplicity of your love and generosity with others
so that they finally know that your love transcends religions, races and differences.

Simplicity living: the secret to joyful living

by Steve on February 14, 2010

Simplicity living has the power to deliver peace of mind, pure awareness, joy and happiness for those who seek this effortless path. This is a path that requires no effort from you and its blessings are instantly deliverable to you, contrary to the “I want more” crowded highway that often delivers a sense of lack, stress and pain.

E. F. Schumacher summarized simplicity by saying, “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction.”

Simplicity living (do not misunderstand with scarcity living) is basically the intention and the process of finding Joy and Happiness even in simple things (not only in simple things). It’s a way of life where you chose to enjoy each moment of the ride not only the destination.

By choosing to do so, you will discover, which are the activities, environments and people that bring you Joy and Happiness, and you will prioritize these in your life as much as possible.

We are all unique and have our own path in Life, that is why simple things have a different meaning for each of us. What counts, is our ability to consciously find Joy and Happiness in our daily activities.

Examples:

  • Enjoying each moment of the sunset at the beach
  • Smiling at people in the street on your way to the office
  • Listening to the silence at night
  • Enjoying a walk in the forrest, in mountain or on the beach
  • Cutting the grass
  • Shopping at the farm
  • Looking at your child’s smile
  • Exercising in the nature
  • Making dinner for your family, friends or colleagues
  • Saying “thank you”
  • Watching flowers
  • Playing with your pet

When you chose to find Joy in small things, you are, in fact, raising your awareness, and you start to see beauty in things that you did not see before. You will feel happier, more vibrant and finally attract more of these feelings in your life. And you will probably come to the conclusion that you do not necessarily need more…

The Water crystals experiment

by Steve on September 22, 2009

The water crystals experiments realized by Masaru Emoto are really amazing as they give us a new and visible understanding of our relationship with nature and how our emotions/vibrations can deeply influence our environment and life.

Masaru Emoto’s worldwide experiments showed that water molecules can take many forms in response to human thought and emotions, ideas, words, and music… He reported his experiments and photos in his book The Hidden Messages in Water

Watch the water crystals transform themselves in response to emotions, prayer and different vibrations:

As you can see our thoughts, emotions, words or music vibrate with energy… and these vibrations can influence vital elements like water at a molecular level. It shows us that we can have a positive influence on our life. We can transform our thoughts and contribute to help ourselves and this planet. We can offer our children a better future. We can heal ourselves and others. It all starts with a thought or a word of love. Because love is the most vibrating energy and is the essence of life. There is always a miracle behind love.

Watch an Interview with Masaru Emoto:

Although the water crystals experiments realized by Masaru Emoto cannot be called scientific, they can be reproduced with different results and give a visual evidence that your thoughts have energy and may influence your environment.

A simple experiment you can do yourself

How your emotions may contribute to manifest your desires

by Steve on September 14, 2009

Positive emotions contain the necessary energy to transform your desires into reality. When you feel good and experiment positive feelings you’re attracting like energy, circumstances and things in to your life.” You are a living magnet, attracting what you feel.”

Understanding that your emotions are the necessary fuel to manifest your thoughts and dreams, is critical to your ability to create the life you desire.

My friend Michel is a living example of these principles. I met him while I was searching real stories of people manifesting their dreams. Michel’s secret is very simple. He wrote down a phrase on a piece of card:

I am a very happy person because:
I’m healthy, I feel good in my body and have the energy to accomplish my dreams.
I’m wealthy, I always have a surplus of money
I love and feel loved

Below this very simple phrase, he wrote:

Peace, Love, Confidence

He explained to me that he focused his time trying to experiment these 3 feelings as they were summarizing all what he wanted from life. The more he experimented these feelings on a daily basis, the more he attracted circumstances, opportunities and things that made him feel peace, love and confidence.

He said to me that finally all he wanted from life was experimenting these feelings; wanting specific things was useless as life was giving him all that he wanted.

This is an extraordinary simple and powerful story because it demonstrates that behind every material or specific desire there is an emotion to be satisfied. When we focus our energy on desired emotions first, then we can get all the things we want.

You may have read the Secret, you may have bought dozen of books to learn how to manifest your desires, but as you can see attracting what you want in life may be as simple as experimenting the right feeling. There is no right or wrong way to do it.

Examine all the things you dream of, then ask yourself:
How would you feel if you had all these things?

You will discover that identical emotions are hiding behind many of your desires. When you finally identify these emotions, start cultivating them through your activities, thoughts, words, environment and relationships. That’s all.

Here is a list of positive emotions:

  • Joy
  • Love
  • Excitement
  • Abundance (of anything that causes a positive response)
  • Pride
  • Comfort
  • Confidence
  • Affection
  • Peace
  • Contribution
  • Gratitude

10 Universal Relationship Truths by Margot Zaher and Jafree Ozwald

by Steve on September 10, 2009

The following words will assist you in creating heart opening soul-based relationships throughout your life. This practice will empower you in more ways than you know. When you are connecting with others from this soul perspective, the Universal love energy inside you shines and you become a brighter light for everyone and you enlighten this world. The secret is knowing that every relationship you have doesn’t exist “outside” of you, yet the core connection is always found evolving within you. Enjoy!

  1. Dwell on the idea of an infinite love is within you now. Rest in the feeling that arises. Relax into this sooo deeply that it permeates your innermost being. This way you have found your Source of love and are free from relying on your partner for feelings of love and validation.
  2. You have the unmlimited power to manifest your ideal relationship at anytime. Since you can shift your vibrational frequency at any time, you can manifest anything at anytime, including the love of your life. By transforming the way you are relating and connecting to others, you create a vibrational field around you which allows you to be more intimate with yourself and your partner.
  3. Your partner can never “complete” you because you are already whole. The longing for completion that you feel inside comes from being out of touch with your Divine Self.
  4. You can never make anybody feel angry, sad, hopeless, defensive, or any other emotion known to man-kind. You are responsible solely for your own emotional state that is arising for you now.
  5. Your true Divine essence is love, and you are connected to the essence of this energy no matter what you think, say or do. Your very essence is the essence of love and holds the vibration of love at all times.
  6. Ego by defination is always focusing on its wants. If your partner rarely satisfies your ego’s desires, its because both of your egos are running the show. To satisfy your ego and your partner’s ego completely eternally, return to focusing on the soul-source of your being.
  7. Gratitude for your lover is always there smoldering like warm embers in the core of your heart. All it takes is for you to consciously re-ignite the spark, and the flames of gratitude will grow.
  8. Behind every “undesired” behavior you see in your partner is your misperception of the Divine. At the core of everyone is the most beautiful divine essence that is perfect, peaceful, eternal and loving in all ways.
  9. The act of not letting yourself love someone or be fully loved is the cause of suffering and emotional pain in all relationships. Pain is never caused by you loving your partner to the fullest. Commit yourrself to loving fully and you’ll only manifest joy to you!
  10. The soul is all loving. It naturally accepts whatever occurs in a relationship because it is not stuck in the same narrow perspective as the ego. The soul sees and knows that each experience is deeply enriching in and of itself, and has a divine perfection that the ego/mind is blind to seeing.

These “10 Universal Relationship Truths” message is written by Margot Zaher and Jafree Ozwaldpart and is part of their free enlightening e-mail service, which I love, and I want to share with you today. Enjoy.

Meditation for beginners

by Steve on September 1, 2009

Meditation can be a bit confusing for beginners as they try to put too much effort mastering a new technique, they learned in a book. The paradox is that meditation, to be effective, should require no effort at all and involve the mind at a bare minimum.

Here are very simple guidelines to start meditating. They were given to me by a Zen master, while I was confused with meditation techniques and visualization. These guidelines are so simple and helpful that they will help you start a meditation program that you will keep for life.

Here are these simple guidelines as they were shared with me :

  • Know that mediation should be a pleasurable experience. People overcomplicate things and make things harder than they are. Mediation, must be a simple and gradual process to become a habit.
  • Think of meditation as an opportunity to live in the present moment, whatever happens in your life.
  • The only right way to meditate is to live and enjoy the experience as it is.
Never fight with your mind, do not try to control your thoughts but let them come and accept them, they are part of your experience.
  • Don’t force yourself to meditate for a certain amount of time. Living in the present moment transcends all notions of time. Meditate as long as the experience is enjoyable. It can be 5 minutes, 30 minutes or two hours. When you feel that your mediation requires efforts, stop your practice.
  • Accept whatever happens during your meditation practice as it is. Do not try to analyze or judge your meditation experience.
  • Never force your breathing neither your body during your meditation practice.
  • Practice everyday, whatever your schedule. It can be three minutes, 5 minutes or ten minutes. Remember that it’s an opportunity to experience the present moment. Most people tend to think that you should meditate 30 minutes or more, to get benefits. This is totally wrong and a nonsense. As the benefits of meditations are in the habit of experiencing the present moment.
When you take the habit to live in the now, you are relieved from stress, your health condition improve and you feel happier.

Here is the simple meditation technique, I was given in 3 steps:

Step one
Sit comfortably wherever you want. The key is to be comfortable. If you can’t sit for any reason, lay down. While you are seated, keep your back straight. You can even sit with your back on a wall to help you stay straight. Your goal here is to feel comfortable. Do not try to adopt a specific position if you can’t stand it.

Step two
Close your eyes and stay this way while observing your breath. DO NOT MAKE ANY EFFORT. If thoughts come your way, just accept them, if you hear external noises, accept them as part of your experience. Just accept whatever happen as it is. NEVER FIGHT ANYTHING, live with it.

When you concentrate on your breathing you harmonize your mind and your body, and it accelerates the present moment consciousness. If you prefer you can repeat a word that you like over and over. However, choose a word whose meaning is pleasurable for you. Do not force the repeating of your word or mantra, let it come naturally.

Step three
Continue your meditation as long as it is pleasurable. If you need to stop your meditation as you are interrupted by external reasons. Acknowledge it and observe this as an experience. Never judge your meditation practice as good or bad, but as it is: another experience.

Meditation has proven to be a very powerful practice to diminish stress and favors many health benefits. However, meditation as anything else will provide benefits when it’s practiced regularly. And to make meditation a regular habit, you have to incorporate it in your daily schedule.

Here is one of the best video I’ve seen on meditation for beginers
