Simplicity living has the power to deliver peace of mind, pure awareness, joy and happiness for those who seek this effortless path. This is a path that requires no effort from you and its blessings are instantly deliverable to you, contrary to the “I want more” crowded highway that often delivers a sense of lack, stress and pain.
E. F. Schumacher summarized simplicity by saying, “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction.”
Simplicity living (do not misunderstand with scarcity living) is basically the intention and the process of finding Joy and Happiness even in simple things (not only in simple things). It’s a way of life where you chose to enjoy each moment of the ride not only the destination.
By choosing to do so, you will discover, which are the activities, environments and people that bring you Joy and Happiness, and you will prioritize these in your life as much as possible. We are all unique and have our own path in Life, that is why simple things have a different meaning for each of us. What counts, is our ability to consciously find Joy and Happiness in our daily activities.
Examples:
- Enjoying each moment of the sunset at the beach
- Smiling at people in the street on your way to the office
- Listening to the silence at night
- Enjoying a walk in the forrest, in mountain or on the beach
- Cutting the grass
- Shopping at the farm
- Looking at your child’s smile
- Exercising in the nature
- Making dinner for your family, friends or colleagues
- Saying “thank you”
- Watching flowers
- Playing with your pet
When you chose to find Joy in small things, you are, in fact, raising your awareness, and you start to see beauty in things that you did not see before. You will feel happier, more vibrant and finally attract more of these feelings in your life. And you will probably come to the conclusion that you do not necessarily need more…
